Photographer Ali Nasser snapped this shot earlier today of the “doubled” Dumbo the Flying Elephant lifting off for one of its first test flights. Amazing how much fantasy this expanded attraction adds to the area, isn’t it?

The second half of Dumbo the Flying Elephant and the attraction’s new big top queue will officially open in July.

  • Looks great! I love the nod to the Disneyland Casey Jr too with the Splash area. That ride meant a lot to my family when I was growing up. Will anything else be open in the new Fantasyland by September? We will be visiting then.

  • Thank you for your updates, I look everyday to see what you post!
It looks great, I really love the night shots. This just makes me excited for out trip in August! Keep those updates coming!

    • Thanks so much, Pamela. We’ll have another Fantasyland exclusive next Tuesday that’s pretty cool.

  • Jennifer– It’s looking great! Got a question for you. The Glow with the Show ears were recently revealed at DCA. Aside from the WofC show,I hear they interact with the Mad T Party and even some elements of Carsland (turning orange at Flo’s). I can’t help but imagine how awesome these ears would be at WDW, especially with Illuminations, Fantasmic, Spectromagic, etc. Plus, Dumbo is amazing at night with the LED lights. It would be beyond cool to have these ears interact with something like Dumbo. Any whispering of these ears being brought to WDW. If you don’t know, can you share this *wish* to your fellow colleagues? Thanks!

  • We were just there last week and on Thursday got to ride the other Dumbo and see the inside of the tent! Both Dumbo’s flying together look great!

  • We’d love the ears to make it to WDW too, in time for our mid-December trip, and is there any word at all about the opening of the Be Our Guest restaurant? I hate to keep bothering the nice folks at Dining Reservations, and all of our ADRs are now made, but this will be a special trip to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday- Belle has always been her “alter-ego” and she is dying to eat in the “Library”! Also, is there going to be a village similar to Belle’s Village in the Paris park? Thanks!

  • hi- any word on whether a person in a wheelchair can remain in the chair- like the Aladdin ride- for the new dumbo experience? My daughter needs the side supports etc in her wheelchair and can not stand at all- butloves to ride the accesssible aladdin ride in her chair.
also, will the ride be open end of november- trip is a surprise for my daughter!
