I have wonderful news to share for Disney and Vera Bradley fans. You may recall we announced in March that a new Disney collection by Vera Bradley was coming this fall to select locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. Since that article was published, many guests have asked my fellow Disney Parks Blog authors and me for an exact date. Today, I’m happy to share an official answer! Please mark your calendars for September 21, 2013, as this is the first day the new collection will be available at the Walt Disney World Resort!
For this initial collection, we will be introducing two new vibrant designs created especially for Disney Parks. As Vera Bradley is known for naming their designs, the pink color is titled “Just Mousing Around,” while the black color is called “Midnight with Mickey.” These colors will be seen on several popular Vera Bradley styles including backpacks, cosmetic bags, duffel bags, totes, and more.

For guests in Florida, we will be holding a special release party on Saturday, September 21, at the World of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m., and will feature the first opportunity to purchase items from this new collection.
In California, guests can find these new items starting Monday, September 23, in select locations at the Disneyland Resort.
If you are unable to visit Disney Parks, we will be releasing the Disney Collection by Vera Bradley on the Disney Parks online store starting in October 2013.

Hi! We will be arriving in WDW on Sept. 21….how long will this event last that day? Will they be in the World of Disney store beyond the 21st? Thanks for the info! So excited!!! 🙂
@Amber – Please stay tuned for all event details. We will be sharing those on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming weeks. At this point, the Vera Bradley items will only be released at World of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace in Florida. We may add them to additional locations after the event on September 21, yet we won’t know where until the event has concluded.
Will you be able to purchase them at off site resorts like Hilton Head & Vero Beach?
are they only out for a limited time?
@Diane – These items are not limited edition. At this point, we are focused on the September 21 release at World of Disney in Walt Disney World. They may share these with additional locations in the future. There are no immediate plans to spread them to Vero Beach or Hilton Head Island Resorts. I would invite you to keep watch in October when we release these on our Disney Parks online store.
You mentioned that the Disney Vera Bradley handbags would be selling online sometime in October do you know what the actual date will be? It is my birthday month and would love to purchase one or maybe two!

I just thought I would comment the “tote” you are referring to is not in fact the bag by vera called the Tote. It is a bag called the Vera. different bag
Is there any word yet on whether these bags will be included in discounts for Disney Visa cardholders or AP members or DVC owners? thanks!
@Celia – Yes. Normal discounts will apply for the purchase of these items.
I’m so glad the pattern will be featured on the ID case (the photos only showed bags)! I just got into pin trading and I’ve been looking for something to hold my annual pass at the end of my new pin lanyard!
Hi I am so disappointed I will be in Disney the 14th through the 20th. Will the bags be on display anywhere during my time there just to take a look ? Can I preorder while there or do I need to wait for Oct.? I was even planning on bringing an empty suitcase for my purchases.
@Marilyn – I’m sorry to hear that you will miss the release. I trust you will still have a nice trip. There are no plans to offer any kind of pre-order for these items. You may want to stop by World of Disney on September 20 as some items may be on display (I stress the words “may be on display”).
Items will be sold starting September 21 at the World of Disney on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Disney Parks online store is certainly an option come October.
I am SO excited about this! And, I will be there that day! Woo hoo! What kind of turn out are you anticipating? Wondering if I need to bring my camping gear. ; )

I am leaving WDW on September 21st, but too early to make it to Downtown Disney before we leave. Would I be able to purchase and charge to my room that morning via phone and have shipped to my house?
@Louise – The items will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis at the World of Disney. Our Merchandise Guest Services team will not have access to them at that point. They will be carried on our Disney Parks online store later in October 2013. Hope you have a good trip.
Will there be many bags to go around? we are getting married at disney on October 1st and won’t be arriving until September 28th and I am worried they will be sold out by then.
@Sara – It is difficult to say right now how inventory will look come October 1. I do know that we have additional orders planned that should arrive shortly after the initial launch on September 21.

@Tracy – At this point, I know select locations at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts will carry these items. I haven’t heard an update about Aulani. We are currently focused on these first two colors.
What do we know about a cast discount? Also VB corporate told me they will be offering a blanket throw as well. Do you know how much that will cost?
@Liz – Normal Cast Member discounts apply. There will not be a throw offered at the event on September 21 or really anytime soon. Something planned for the future. 🙂
Will it cost to attend the release party? Is there somewhere we can sign up to attend? We are planning a weekend trip JUST FOR THIS EVENT!!! 🙂

Is there any more information about the actual event? I’m seeing a lot of eBay sellers already doing pre-sales. Is there going to be a limit on what a person can buy, so they don’t buy everything?

My flight leaves at 12:15 p.m on 9/21 but I’m going to try and make it over for this event. Do you think women will be camping out overnight for these bags?

We are leaving tomorrow to come down. My daughters and I are so excited about the Event Party. I hope we see some more information about the event today. My girls are 13 and 8 and want to come to the Party with me to get their bags. Please tell me that I don’t have to wake them at the crack of dawn in order to get them the bags for school they want. I sure hope these ebay people don’t ruin it for me and my girls. Also can you give me a hint, at the party are there going to be any “special guests” coming to party with us. My 8 yr old wants to know.

I just went into the store on line and searched Vera Bradley…. It is showing that the bags will be on line Oct. 21…. thought whoever wanted to know would be interested.
