Holidays at the Disneyland Resort begins November 13, and today I’m excited to share details on what this dazzling holiday season will bring to Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park and the Downtown Disney District.

“A Christmas Fantasy” Parade at Disneyland Park

At Disneyland park, “A Christmas Fantasy” parade returns, showing daily along with the new “Paint the Night” parade each night. “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” will return in January after the holiday season ends. Each night, the all-new “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will light up the park as we continue the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration; “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks will not be presented this year.

World of Color – Celebrate!” continues throughout the season at Disney California Adventure park, along with “World of Color – Winter Dreams.”

Be sure to check the calendar page of Disneyland.com for details on daily times for all shows and spectaculars.

Also at Disneyland park, Santa Claus will greet guests at a new location in Critter Country. When he visits Disney California Adventure park, Santa can be found at Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street.

Here’s a look at this year’s returning favorites during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort:

Comments

  • “World of Color – Celebrate!” continues throughout the season at Disney California Adventure park, along with “World of Color – Winter Dreams.”

So does that mean both will be presented during the holidays? I’m confused.

    • Yes – both will be presented. Please check the Entertainment schedule for show times.

  • Jingle Cruise is my favorite thing ever.

  • Will there be a snowfall and will they play White Christmas at the end of Disneyland Forever though?

    • Kyle – Snow will still fall during the “Frozen” segment of “Disneyland Forever” fireworks.

  • Anything new for Disneyworld this year?

  • Thanks for the update Erin! So cool that they’ll be doing 2 World of Color shows.

  • Will the Holiday Tour be offered this year?

    • Yes! The Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Tour will return this year.

  • I also would like to know if WOC Celebrate and WOC winter dreams will be offered as both nightly or on alternating nights? And how would this work when booking a WOC dining package to know which show you will get?

  • Thank you so much, Erin! 🙂 Someone had just asked when we would get details about the holiday season, and then up popped your blog! Lol.

    • My ears were burning 😉

  • Will Paint the Night run once or twice each night?

    • Gregory – It’s best to check the Entertainment schedule for the date you plan to visit.

  • Does Santa’s move at Disneyland Park mean that Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree will be closed for the season (and even permanently)?

    • The Jingle Jangle Jamboree will not be presented this year.

  • I would love to see WOC Winter Dreams come back. The 60th Celebrate version OK, but the Winter Dreams is a show that can be seen over and over and not get old.

  • I will be at Disneyland on November 13th – will all of these be happening on November 13th or are they going to start bringing them out over time? I’m very excited to see even a little bit of the holidays at Disneyland.

    • Everything begins November 13.

  • My family and I look forward to the “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks every year. We are truly going to miss them this year 🙁

  • Thanks Erin! I’m so excited the special 60th fireworks will be shown over the Holidays, I wanted to see it!

  • I am happy to see Celebrate will be there. My husband and I are planing on doing cc lunch for this. We were hoping for a late showing. Do you know if WOC will be shown twice nightly and will winter dreams be first and Celebrate second?

I wish you all would update the entertainment schedule 60 days out.

  • Will there be garland on Main Street?

  • What part of Crittter Country will Santa be at?

    • Santa Claus will appear in the location that currently hosts Winnie the Pooh and friends.

  • Thank you for providing more information about what is going on at Disneyland for the Holiday’s but the information is still lacking. I went to the disneyland website and the entertainment section like you mentioned multiple times but it only goes through Oct. 26th. So it is still not helpful with out of town guests planning a trip to Disneyland.

  • Will the gingerbread house be in GCH again this year?

  • Thanks for the holiday information! Can you share if the castle will be decorated as a winter castle for the holidays this year?

    • Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle will not be featured this year, as the castle will remain decorated for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.

  • Was hoping that you’d be announcing a holiday version of Disneyland Forever, but there’s always next year :-).

WONDERFUL to hear that Winter Dreams will be returning, even if it has to share the calendar with Celebrate.

I hope the Mad T Party will still do its usual holiday thing – hopefully it’s just missing from the post since it’s a small change.

Notably missing from the post is the annual holiday castle overlay – safe to assume it will remain in diamond mode?

    • The Diamond Mad T Party will continue through the holiday season. And yes, Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle will not be presented this year as it remains in its Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration decor.

  • Thank you so much for the info Erin. The holidays are always a exciting time at the resort.
It’s awesome that Olaf’s Snow Fest will be back for the holidays.

  • This makes me so sad that there won’t be the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks!!! We go every Christmas Eve just for this! How come they can do WOC Winter Dreams but not the fireworks? There is just nothing more magical then the snow on Main Street after the fireworks (the Frozen segment doesn’t count now). Can’t they do something like they did for the 4th and add it afterwards? PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS!!! You can’t have Christmas at DL without the fireworks!!!

  • I dont understand why you wouldnt tell people about not having Jingle Jangle Jamboree its like Halloween announcement all over again
People look for that info cos they love it up there – i also would love to know more about the new Santa area at Critter Country

  • So will the Christmas parade debut on 11/13, or any time before that?

  • Hi Erin,

Thank you for posting this info! We have been so excited about this! I have heard of there being a Candlelight Processional at Disneyland. Any dates for that yet?

  • Any idea on what the showtimes for the Christmas Parade will be? I truly do hope that there will be one after dark (i.e. the normal 7:00 Parade), as this is by far the better time to see the Christmas Parade.

    • Christopher – Times are subject to change, so it’s best to check the Entertainment schedule when it’s updated for the date of your visit.

  • The “Believe in holiday magic ” fireworks is one of the best things about Disneyland during the holidays . Too bad it’s not going to happen this year . They should really bring it back this year its beyond beautiful .

  • I’m so bummed that they aren’t going to add decorations to the castle….that’s part of what I love about Christmastime at Disneyland!

  • Will Pooh and friends be relocated or be on hiatus?

    • I don’t have that information just yet, Brandon. I’m sorry.

  • How will the rotation of the two World of Color shows work, especially when there is normally only one scheduled showing? Will Winter Dreams be more like the 2014 version or the original version?

  • When will information for dining reservations for Thanksgiving be available?

    • We’re working on that now, Lindsay, and will share soon.

  • Add me to the growing list of guests that are extremely disappointed that Believe in Holiday Magic firework are not being presented this year. PLEASE RE-CONSIDER your decision!!!

Were losing too much Christmas at DL this year, with the lack of decorations on the castle, and with no Garland hanging across Main Street this year (since the Paint the Night floats are too tall to allow the garland), and with the loss of the Jingle Jamboree.

Will New Orleans Square and Toontown still be getting all their decorations this year?

  • Erin,
Since Disneyland Forever will continue thru the Holidays does this mean It’s a Small World will NOT be decorated for Christmas because of the projections from the Fireworks Show???
    Thank You

    • Fil – “it’s a small world” Holiday will return this year, with its lights and decoration.

  • Thank you for bringing back the Buena Vista Street Choir! Their magnificently resonant performances under the bridge have been my favorite holiday joy for the past several years. I also have my fingers crossed in hope that Olaf’s Snow Fest will once again include Kikka and the Frolicking Fjords. In my opinion, they are the best Frozen-inspired entertainment at the Resort. This announcement is a wonderful birthday present. How did you know just what I was wishing when I blew out the candles?

  • A shame the Holiday Fireworks aren’t going to be on this year, Will Mickey and Minnie get their ice rink back this year? Also, the parade last year seemed a little…less jolly with the exclusion of Mrs. Clause. Is she going to have her old rocking chair in the mail room this year?

  • If both World of Color Shows are showing, how does that work with the World of Color Dinner Package?

  • Let’s hope A Christmas Fantasy get’s Mrs. Claus, and the ice rink back. Why did they get rid of Mickey and Minnie skating for Frozen? I don’t think Frozen even takes place during that time of year. Isn’t that the point of the movie? It’s winter when it shouldn’t be? So, there really is no connection to the Holidays.

  • Change is always difficult. Holidays are all about tradition. While everyone was SO excited about the whole 60th Celebration, I think it was assumed that the Holiday season would be untouched. Truly, that wouldn’t be fair to those who only come to the Parks once a year and were hoping to be included in the 60th celebration. THAT SAID, Disneyland has been our “living room” throughout my daughter’s childhood. It was where we experienced the most Christmas, between glimpses of Candlelight, the Main Street Carolers, and of course, the holiday fireworks and music. OK, so the castle will remain in 60th cladding. People will cry when that comes down, eventually. No Main Street garlanding? OK. Something different. But I really will miss the serenity of the “shooting star” in Silent Night, and the collective wonder of thousands of people, and the eyes of the children, as the Main Street lights slowly come up to reveal the softly falling snow. Those are the moments of wonder that make the Disneyland holidays so magical, and so cherished. (Plus, on those crazy days when the weather doesn’t permit the fireworks show, it does take the fire from the belly of the angered beast, and allows the crowd to float serenely out of the park, feeling that they have truly experienced something magical). Change is always going to be a part of our lives. Hopefully there might be some reconsideration. I could always enjoy two shows…

  • I’m so sad the Disney will not be keeping with the tradition that has been bringing people to the resorts for 60 years. No Christmas fireworks? No garland? No castle holiday overlay? I really hope that THIS IS RECONSIDERED!!! People need the holidays in their lives and the amazing things that happen with the good cheer it produces. Please bring back our holidays Disney! There are many ways to still keep the 60th Diamond Anniversary décor mixed in – what shines as bright as a Diamond…icicles and Christmas lights! What happens when the fireworks cannot happen due to weather? There will be no snow to fall after hearing Silent Night giving people the happiness that is Disney and the holidays. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!

  • Let’s hope Disneyland will find a way to fit in a couple plays of White Christmas with snow each night. Even if the castle doesn’t turn white, the Christmas tree can… 🙁

  • We got Christmas lights on the Castle and garland during the 50th, didn’t we. Sad.

  • I believe this is a huge mistake. Although the celebration fire works are wonderful and entertaining, the holiday fireworks are so special and really capture the spirit of the season. The castle decorations are also so important, and a beautiful tradition that should not be forgone this year.

I truly urge Disneyland to reconsider this. So many families travel here every year to see the holiday displays at entertainment, to not have one of the main attractions will be incredibly disappointing.

  • As a native Angeleno who grew up without snow, the snow during the holiday Christmas fireworks was the only experience I had with snow for many years. I still cry every year when the snow falls. Even though I love the new fireworks show, it really is a shame that this holiday tradition will not be happening.

  • Like, I always look forward to the holidays @ DL &DCA

  • Yay, ¡Viva Natividad! is back!! My family and I love, love, LOVE the music, the dancing, and the representation of our culture at ¡Viva Natividad! during the Christmas season. It reminds of us where we all came from and the diversity of the community throughout our beautiful state of California. Our Christmas vacation can’t get here soon enough!!

  • I have no idea if anyone is even going to read this comment, but I just have to say something;

I think that people are talking this year’s holiday changes way too hard.

Can’t Disneyland do *anything* new without people getting outraged, sad, or disappointed?

I am not exaggerating when I say that every. single. time. Disneyland makes a change, people *always* get mad, sad, or disappointed.

  • Excited. That’s all I am. I’ve lived in central Florida all my life, so all I know is Disney WORLD. Never seen Disneyland, much less Christmas in Disneyland. It’ll be very nice to see a fusion of Christmas and a magical birthday year. 🙂

Yes, excited for Paint the Night AND Disneyland Forever like everyone else.

  • My wife and I are so sad to read that Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks and Sleeping Beauty Winter Castle won’t be part of Holiday Time this year. The 60th Anniversary entertainment is nice, but we look forward to all the Christmas decorations and entertainment usually offered. It’s become a big part of our Christmas tradition.

  • I am a passholder whom is wondering about the live bands at Tomorrowland Terrace. I have read where they are being removed, which I and others are concerned about greatly, as it is our favorite part of Disneyland and part of our family as well. Will there be any way to still watch our favorite live bands at Disneyland, or if not, is it possible they can return after the refurbishment to TLT.
