  • so with more and more people visiting Anaheim, why did the city not green light the Eastern Gateway?

  • In addition to all of the usual reasons for visitors to want to go to Disneyland Resort in a regular year, it should be very interesting to see how those Anaheim visitor numbers increase during some of the noteworthy years with special events coming up.

For example, obviously there is 2019 to consider (the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which will be a massive draw).

Then we have 2022 (the return of the Super Bowl to Los Angeles after what will have been a 29-year absence, which is certain to draw some visitors to Disneyland Resort).

And, of course, there is 2028 (the grand return of the Summer Olympics to Los Angeles, after what will have been a 44-year absence, which will unquestionably bring many visitors from around the world down to Anaheim).

Over the next decade, there are exciting times ahead for Southern California — in and out of Disneyland Resort — and Anaheim should continue to thrive as a result of them!
