Every ice cream flavor is handmade in small batches using the best local, organic and sustainable ingredients. Special offerings will be available seasonally, showcasing co-founder and head ice cream maker Tyler’s passion for cultivating genuine partnerships with local farmers and artisans.

The arrival of Salt & Straw is a part of the ongoing, promenade-wide transformation at Downtown Disney District in 2018. Multiple new venues and refurbishments to dining and retail locations will be completed throughout the year while Downtown Disney remains open to guests. The result will be a fresh, one-of-a-kind Disney experience, immersing guests by day and night in the greatest mix of family-friendly dining, shopping and entertainment.

Construction is scheduled to begin soon. Check back on the Disney Parks Blog for more updates!

  • This is going to be an awesome addition to Downtown Disney! Can’t wait to eat what I’ve been missing.

  • Michael,
Will Salt & Straw be added to DTD as a 2nd Ice Cream location to Haagen-Dazs or will it be replacing Haagen-Dazs?

    • Hi Jeffrey! Salt & Straw will be located in the Haagen-Dazs space.

  • Any chance this will be open by mid July?

  • best ice cream ever!!!!!

  • I would hope that thry could replicate the old Fantasia ice cream that was sold in Disneyland. That was the best flavor and jts a shame it no longer is available.

  • Does this mean Ghiradelli will be leaving? Because, there’s always room for ice cream locations!

And one last, is it Downtown Disney District or Disney Springs? I try to call it Disney Springs but habit has me still saying Downtown Disney, or is it referring to the older section versus the newer section?

  • Hello,

Since Salt and Straw shops change some flavors every month, will those flavors be unique to the Downtown Disney store or be shared with the LA shops? Would be great if they had their own unique flavors!

  • The real question is what kind of coffee will they be serving? Lol!

  • Any updates on how construction is going or when the store might open?
