“Big Hero 6” fans – the moment you’ve been waiting for is nearly here. Get ready because soon you’ll be able to step into San Fransokyo Square! This reimagined seaside plaza at Disney California Adventure park will be filled with delicious dishes from a variety of neighborhood restaurants and small businesses inspired by the beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios film.

The local San Fransokyo Square eateries will start to introduce delicious new menu offerings over the summer, starting with Lucky Fortune Cookery on July 19! In the weeks following, even more dining options will join the seaside plaza as the transformation continues through the official opening on August 31!

As you explore this exciting neighborhood, you’ll be met with the mouthwatering smells of can’t-miss treats from locations like Aunt Cass CaféPort of San Fransokyo Cervecería, and Rita’s Turbine Blenders. Each of these spots will feature diverse menus with items like the Shrimp Katsu Sandwich or Beef Birria Ramen, and even a Baymax Sipper! And don’t worry – some of your favorites from Lucky Fortune Cookery and Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill will still be available, and with new treats to enjoy too.

Check out the latest news about the San Fransokyo Public Works Department’s progress and be sure to stay tuned for more information as San Fransokyo Square continues to come to life at Disneyland Resort.

Should we get to the full menus? I think so! I am pleased to share with you the eats and sips coming to San Fransokyo Square.

Comments

  • As excited as I am for all this, nothing can compare to the impossible Banh Mi. Hopefully they will realize the demand for it and bring it back.

  • So exciting to see new food items and that some favorites will still be around. Too bad so many people complaining. Typical though.. To the people (victims) whining…..Disneyland literally lists gluten-free, allergy-free etc. items on the mobile order app, their menu pages, the menus avail.in the Park and you can also request such items. Google, and you’ll find even more info/photos from various sources about foods avail, to plan ahead.
They’ve had gluten-free breads (and GF Mickey Mouse pancakes), so I don’t understand THAT bread complaint. Disney has gone above and beyond in trying to accommodate everyone with their food needs/wants. Why not be grateful you have choices you have.

  • I’m sooooo excited to try out these menu items! Sorry the only comments so far are complaints. From someone who works in the food service industry, people will complain about everything… Definitely feels more inclusive of different cultures! Love seeing this. Hurray!

  • Is offering even just gluten-free bread as an option a tough ask? It’s a very common offering at restaurants outside of Disney and available in all grocery stores. Also, how many options do meat eaters need? Meanwhile plant based options are limited to 1 fixed entree per restaurant. One of the listed plant based offerings is literally just “bread (plant-based).” It would be great if every item had options that suited people’s dietary needs while still allowing them to experience the flavors of the dish.

  • So sad to see the ever changing bread pudding has been ditched for a boring cheesecake at the new Aunt Cass Cafe. I also love the new-ish deli sandwich Pacific wharf cafe offered. Sad to see both gone with the re-theming.

  • As someone allergic to all nuts and soy, there is nothing that I can see that I can eat here. This makes me so sad. Even the clam chowder has tofu. Not a good look for Disney.

  • I think some of the photos aren’t matching up with the descriptions, specifically related to the Karaage Chicken Sandwich and the Beef Birria Ramen at Lucky Fortune Cookery. Also I think the picture for the shrimp karaage sandwich is actually the chicken sandwich.

As for developing allergy-friendly options for the core menu items, this process is most likely still ongoing as Chefs research allergens and decide what modifications are possible, but this probably won’t be done until closer to the official release date. I would recommend that anyone with a severe gluten allergy, such as those with celiac disease, should request to speak with an allergy trained kitchen Cast Member or Chef.

  • Is the Mickey sourdough bread gone?! I don’t see it listed. 🙁

  • All of us with Celiacs disease are begging for gluten free options Disney! Haveing a list of allergy friendly helps us plan. We don’t want to have to bring in our own food in the parks. Also for a while many of us didn’t know you had celiac safe options and now that we know because of influencers you guys take stuff away

  • I send emails to customer service every time you announce a new menu. I have Coeliac disease and you are making it increasingly difficult to enjoy the parks because of the lack of gluten free options. Plant based seem to be catered for, but those who are restricted due to actual medical reasons are forgotten about. Really disappointing Disney Parks.

  • So sad to see the Impossible Bahn Mi is gone. It was delicious. I was just getting over you discontinuing the vegan chili cheese fries and now this 😭. The two vegan noodles options look yummy but they are both noodle dishes, and the Yaki Noodle dish looks like such a small portion. Would be nice to have a vegan tea drink eventually too. Crossing my fingers they taste good.

  • I’m with Kate on this. Having a gluten allergy means serious planning and attention to ingredients when it comes to eating within the parks. Recently, Disney has decreased the number of gluten friendly food options, especially at breakfast time, while the number of individuals with food allergies is on the rise. Please consider adding more allergy friendly options, and releasing allergen information at the time new menus are released.

  • Will miss the old Impossible bahn mi so much…

  • I am once again begging y’all to include the allergy menus with these posts. I know the menus are there because they’ll be available Day 1 in the park. But I guess it’s not important for people with allergies to be able to plan their trips ahead. They have to wait for influencers to go to the park and share pictures of the allergy menus YOU create. Why can’t pictures of the allergy menus at least be included in these posts????????
