by , Senior Manager, Communications

Big news out of Walt Disney World Resort! Beginning Jan. 9, 2024, guests with a ticket with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass will be able to once again visit another theme park at ANY TIME OF DAY during park hours (subject to capacity limitations). As a reminder, since returning in 2021, Park Hopper access has only been available after 2 p.m. each day. Now, there will be no more waiting – YOU can decide when it’s time to visit another park.

Visit more than one Walt Disney World Theme Park

I cannot wait to start my morning on a safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park before heading over to EPCOT to grab a slice at my favorite lunch spot, Via Napoli Pizzeria. Or kick off the day with a ride on the Millennium Falcon at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before hopping over to Magic Kingdom Park to catch the Festival of Fantasy parade. Guests with Park Hopper benefits will now have more flexibility to explore the Disney World theme parks the way they want and enjoy even more during their visits.

On days when theme park reservations are required for Annual Passholders and certain non-dated tickets, Passholders and guests will be able to take advantage of the updates to Park Hopper access after visiting their first park.* For example, if a Passholder has a reservation at EPCOT and enters the park at 9 a.m. for a quick ride or two, they can then head to another park right after.

And there is even more news for Passholders! “Good-to-go days” will begin sometime in January! With “good-to-go days,” the theme park reservation calendar will be updated periodically and will show Passholders select days when they may visit a Disney World theme park without needing a theme park reservation (blockout dates will continue to apply like they do today).

Disney Trips Made Easy & Simple

Why are we doing this now? We want to make visiting Disney World easier, simpler and more FUN! We know how much Disney means to so many of you, and we continue to make changes so you get more value out of your vacation and to help you, your friends and family enjoy our theme parks the way you want to. Here are just a few of the ways we’ve done that so far:

Now available

  • Complimentary self-parking is back for Disney Resort hotel stays
  • Annual Passholders may visit the parks after 2 p.m. without needing a theme park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom
  • Digital downloads of select PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of visit now included in the purchase of Disney Genie+ service
  • Parking trams returned to all four Disney World theme parks

Coming Jan. 9, 2024

  • Announced today: Bringing back all-day Park Hopper access during park hours
  • Theme park reservations no longer required for date-based tickets (our standard ticket option)
  • Disney dining plans available once again for Disney Resort hotel guests as part of a package

My favorite memories at Disney World with my family growing up are the days when we visited multiple theme parks, from “rope dropping” early in the morning to fireworks on Main Street, U.S.A. in the evening. We can’t wait for all of you to more easily enjoy days like these in just a few short months.

2024 is going to be an incredible time to visit and you can start planning your visit today by going to DisneyWorld.com or contacting your preferred travel planner. As always, if you have any questions, you can get expert advice from the incredible panelists at planDisney.com!

*To use the Park Hopper benefit, Annual Passholders must make a theme park reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another.  Or, they can enter a theme park without a reservation on a “good-to-go” date for that park or after 2 p.m. (except Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays) before visiting another park.  Passes are subject to the Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass Terms and Conditions.

Comments

  • I am looking for Disney to bring back multriple day pass no expiration date. We been coming to WDW for many years. It is crazy that I spent $2400 plus a fee for my dog for camping and cost of park tickets last year cost more then $350 for 2 for one day. And then Florida residents get a annual pass for less then $800. As of now.. no more mouse house for us! Just cost too much for this senior citizen.. there are other parks in the area to enjoy.

  • When is Tables in Wonderland coming back? We won’t return till then.

  • Bring back Fastpass. makes visiting parks more enjoyable as you can plan your day well in advance. Ordinary people cannot afford to pay additional fees to go on rides when you have already purchased Park tickets. Disney is becoming for the rich only

  • Please please please …
Remove the park reservation requirement for Annual Passholders when they are staying on property!!
This will make it much easier for passholders who are vacationing with date based ticket family\friends!!
We are DVC members staying on property with an annual pass and meeting up with DVC friends staying on property that don’t have an annual pass.
This is going to be a nightmare for us to continue to vacation at the same time!

  • Appreciate the progress. Please consider accelerating this park hopping change now. This will benefit so many travelers for the rest of 2023 to have more flexibility to enjoy the magic now.

  • Does this mean that after 1/9/24, Annual Pass Holders will no longer require a park reservation as well? I am traveling with family that does not have an AP and therefore they will not be required to make a park reservation. What if I am unable to make a reservation for the park they want to go to?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Sadly lost 2 AP for the coming year as we won’t be renewing for either of our grandchildren. Always took them for their spring break (since only Orange County was blocked) and during the week between Christmas and New Year before they return to school. The loss of so many weeks whilst the children are on school breaks just makes it a waste of money. Feel like we really got hosed on our renewals this year, as the price stayed the same but we are are now blocked an additional 3 weeks. 🙁

  • This makes no sense for passholders. There’s still no flexibility at all! Let us go to whatever park we want!!

  • Please consider removing the park reservation requirement for Passholders when they are staying on property. This will make it much easier for passholders who are vacationing with date based ticket family\friends.

  • So as a passholder, I still have to reserve the first park I visit, even though I can immediately go to a different park? Doesn’t make any sense. And please offer Genie+ to purchase early as part of a package!

  • Now please bring back the perk of buying merchandise at the park and having it sent to your resort instead of having to lug it around all day. For events like Festival of the Arts, this would be a huge convenience.

    Please and thank you.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!! Christmas has come early! This was the announcement I’ve been looking forward to the most 🙂 I love rope dropping MK then heading to Epcot for lunch, so this makes me so happy!!!

  • That’s great news! Any ideas of the park to resort package service will return? I can’t speak for others but I know I don’t purchase as much in the parks now because I don’t want to carry it. I tried renting a locker and it was okay but still kind of a pain going back and forth to it.

  • Another great step towards things being how they were (just a few more to go!)
Will annual pass holders with a hotel reservation be required to make park reservations for those dates of stay?
Seems a bit silly if I’m travelling with people with dated tickets as part of a hotel package and I’m the only one bound by reservation rules?

  • I hope in 2024 pass holders can make Genie+ selections after 2:00 or on good to go days, because we cannot now unless we have a park reservation and it’s beyond frustrating.

  • Any news on if WDW is bringing back the separate ticketed After Hour parties in 2024? I enjoy taking my adult son who has autism to these because he is less overwhelmed with the smaller crowds. Thanks in advance for your time.
