The glitz and glam of awards season is officially underway, and Hollywood isn’t the only place you’ll find a star-studded celebration. Imagine walking down the middle of your very own red carpet … lights flashing, crowds cheering, and Magic Kingdom Park closed early just for you. This is how it feels to be a cast member celebrating your milestone anniversary during a Service Celebration!

This special party honors anniversaries in true Disney style – from 10 years all the way up to 50 years. And this year, Disney is celebrating over 8,300 cast members — that’s more than 100,000 years of service at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland!

The festivities start when thousands of cast members and their invited guests arrive and are cheered on by hundreds of other cast members as they get the red carpet treatment – with none other than Cinderella Castle as the backdrop.

Specialty food and beverages, low wait times on popular attractions, and special Disney character greetings are just some of the unique opportunities that await honorees on this special night. And at the end of the night, a cast-exclusive firework spectacular lights up the night sky.

One cast member who has walked the Disney red carpet many times is Pam Flint who has spent more than 50 years growing her career at Walt Disney World in various roles across the company. Pam began her Disney career in 1971 as a performer at the Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom Park and now leads a team in costuming operations.

“I’ve worked for Disney all these years because I saw a long-term career path for me,” she said. “I love making magic for cast and guests. We’re all here working for the same purpose – to make a difference and bring a magical experience to our guests.”

Pam’s career has blossomed through countless unforgettable experiences – from performing in the Hoop Dee Doo Revue in the 70s to dancing at the opening ceremonies for Spaceship Earth at EPCOT in 1982, and even working as a costuming purchaser for Disney Cruise Line later in her career. Now, she adds another red-carpet moment at Magic Kingdom Park to celebrate her 50th service anniversary to that list!

Congratulations to all of the honorees on their magical anniversaries!
