A few days ago, Steven Miller introduced you to the Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary collage. As you saw in Steven’s post, the “40th Collage” program is found on keepsakes all around our magical kingdom. The nostalgic print can be found on everything from photo albums and memo pads to mouse pads and address books. But there’s one line of merchandise that Steven left out (actually I begged him to let me break the news…) – the new Dooney & Bourke 40th Anniversary Collection for Disney Parks.
The newest Disney Theme Park Exclusive Dooney & Bourke collection features six different silhouettes and takes the essence of the 40th Anniversary collage and transforms it into Disney Style that you can showcase every day. The bags feature everything from retro Walt Disney World icons to classic silhouettes of Mickey Mouse, plus original park tickets & maps and autographs from a few famous friends. This commemorative collection highlights the essence of Disney with color, style and nostalgic touches.
To help us celebrate the official launch of the 40th Anniversary co-branded Collection, Walt Disney World is welcoming back Ian Ray, Creative Director from Dooney & Bourke. It was around this time last year that Ian joined us for the release of Minnie & Mickey Faces & the Tonal Mickey co-branded collections. Will these bags be available in Disneyland as well or is this exclusively at WDW for the moment?
I totally agree that all of turning 40 this year should be celebrated as well. I am going to Disney for my birthday. I told my husband that I wanted to be in the Happiest place on earth for the BIG 40.
My brother-in-law bought me my D & B purse because my sister loves them. I never had a really nice purse before.
I will cherish always because he passed away this week.
I have not been able to get to Disney World yet but hope some day that will come true too!

I love the idea of the WDW 40th Anniversary Dooney and Bourke bags. However after looking at them, they styles are exactly the same at the Disneyland 55th Anniversary bags. This is not good for me as I already have the Disneyland 55th anniversary bags in the styles I want. I wish the WDW 40th bags were different styles. (There is a handbag style I like in the MM balloon pattern, but I am not too fond of the MM balloon pattern to carry around everyday. At the Disney parks, it is find) I feel like I would be duplicating bags that I already own if I purchased a WDW 40th. Sad for me.
Are they available any day this week? I will be there tomorrow and would love to get one or at least be able to see them??
I love Dooney & Burke purses and love the fact that there are now Disney ones. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if they made all the styles available in the Barrel purses because those are the ones I collect!
Oh this is going to be *so* hard! I have to decide between the Sketches and the 40th Anniversary! Just like Disney to make too many great things! Guess I’ll have to buy a wristlet or small bag of one to use in the parks and a purse of the other 😀
I am turning 40 in January so I treated myself to the hipster in the new pattern this weekend. Just an FYI- the store at the Grand Floridian did not have the new pattern this past Saturday (2/19)- I had to get it at Uptown Jewelers.
This is the best design yet! I have liked some of the other ones, but not enough to buy one. I have to have one or two of these!

I am so happy Dooney and Bourke joined with WDW to design these Handbags!! I bought one at Magic Kingdom last May for my Anniv. The white one with the Castle, Mickey, Minnie, Love it. Shoulder Bag. I bought my Granddaughter one for Christmas. The new design pictured here is not one of my Favorite designs. Maybe bc i live in S. Fl, so like the lighter colors better. A little too much for me. But keep up the good work and i hope you come out with some nice designs for Warm, Fun, Tropical Weather.
Ok its official I am going to get one of these. Now the only choice is WHICH ONE?!?!? I like the wallet, the sling, the wristlet, the smaller shoulder bag and the messenger bag! Its going to be hard to choose. How much do they cost for each one?
I love love love the Disney Dooneys and have several of my own! I just wish all the bags had matching wallets!
Dara, all I can say is WOW!!!! Thank you so much for posting this article. I have to say I have really liked all the Disney Dooney and Bourke bags that have come out so far and have enjoyed collecting a lot of them, but these designs for the 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney World just completely blew me away. I love all of them and it’s going to be hard to decide which ones to get when I’m in Walt Disney World in two weeks.
I have a question, though. I’ll be in Walt Disney World starting on March 4th. Will these Dooney and Bourke 40th Anniversary items be readily available in all the parks and stores that normally sell the Disney Dooney and Bourke bags? I ask because I don’t want to have to go searching in every single store just to find them. Thanks again for your help and for this great post.
The collection will definitely be available when you are at Walt Disney World on March 4th! The best locations to find the 40th Anniversary bags are at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom and World of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace.
I agree Faith. I turn 40 this year too and I can’t wait until our trip to get myself something special. I think the fact that WDW is turning the Big 4-0 too helps take the sting out for me and make it magical instead!
I have a great idea!!! This year…all of us born in 1971 should get something special for the BIG anniversary!!! We are turning 40, too, and my husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Walt Disney World!!! We (who are turning 40 this year) have a special connection with WDW!

My son bought me a Dooney tote while he was on a college internship program at Disney World this past fall. It is so much more than a magnificent bag, it is a memory as well. The designs and patterns of these bags really hit the mark!
I have been waiting to see if this would be offered since there is a 55th anniversary one for Disneyland. I became very emotional when I saw this… I will celebrate my 4oth birthday on October 1 as well. How special it is to share this date with a place I hold very dear to my heart.
When will the 40th Anniversary bags be available in the parks? After February 26th? I hope they are also put up for sale at disneystore.com for those of us that don’t have a trip to the parks in the works right now. They look great!!!

While 40th Anniversary Dooney & Bourke for Disney Parks Collection is not yet available online, they will be in the future. I’ll be sure to keep you updated as to when the new collection will be available online.
WHEN will they come out with an over the shoulder bag with a zipper close! I looked at these when I was in Disney in October and I could not find one that was an over the shoulder bag with the material you can just wipe off dirt that has a zipper close! I’m just waiting for that and I’ll buy it right away!!!
I’ve not been a huge fan of the other Dooney and Bourke bags but the new collage ones?! OMG I can’t wait to go on vacation and hopefully get one!!! Those are way too awesome! Bringing back the old school memories 🙂
