Galactic Food Fun at Star Wars Weekends: This is the Droid You’ve Been Looking For!

There are some tasty treats at Star Wars Weekends 2012 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with R2-D2 being “the droid you are looking for” each weekend.
“Darth

Darth Vader is featured on a special cupcake, which goes to the “dark side.” This chocolate confection is $4.99 and is available at Darth’s Mall (the special merchandise location set up just for Star Wars Weekends 2012), ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co., Pizza Planet and Starring Rolls Cafe.
“Churros

Known for carrying secret plans in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, R2-D2 carries some yummy treats for Star Wars Weekends. The loveable droid is featured with his own bucket that holds churros with chocolate dipping sauce available at the Herbie’s Cart, Fantasmic! and the churro cart in front of The Great Movie Ride.

“Corn “R2-D2

In the mood for something savory? Try a corn dog and chips served in an R2-D2 Bucket from Herbie’s Cart, or treat your little Padawan or Jedi to an R2-D2 Kids’ Power Pack from Pizza Planet, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co, ABC Commissary, Catalina Eddie’s, Fairfax Fare or Rosie’s All-American Café.

“Frozen “Frozen “Chocolate

R2-D2 also can be spotted holding frozen lemonade in a special souvenir cup from Anaheim Produce, filled with a tasty shake at Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner and 50’s Prime Time Café, or stuffed with a hot fudge sundae at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.

  • I had the sundae when I went to Sci-Fi Dine In this year! R2-D2 is a loyal droid – he’s currently performing various tasks around my room, often holding pens or a bottle of hand sanitizer. 🙂

  • Are Star Wars weekends about the same time every year? Unfortunately can’t make it this year but hope to be visiting 1st week of June 2013!

  • At Disneyland, you could get the R2D2 container filled with popcorn!! =D

  • These would be ideal for the Star Wars Cantina Restaurant, if you guys would build one. The streets of America are okay but a Star Wars Cantina restaurant and a Muppets Restaurant would be so cool that they could be considered attractions themselves. Just sayin.

  • For all those that are asking – the R2-D2 stein AND popcorn bucket are ALSO available in Disneyland – head over to Tomorrowland … the steins are at Tomorrowland Terrace and Pizza Port!

  • We got one of the R2D2’s filled with popcorn last year…they are soo cute. If they are the same ones as last year,they are made of plastic and actually came apart so it was easy to transport them home in the luggage.

  • OOOOHHHHHH man! Can’t wait to try some of that food in two weeks. This is gonna be an awesome vacation.

  • Pizza port already sells the R2D2 mug…if you buy a parfait, you can opt to buy the “mug”.

  • The R2 buckets have been at Disneyland for over a year now! They are at TLT and were at the popcorn carts all last summer……..
