Glimpse the New Test Track ‘SimCar’ Starting Today at Epcot

Here’s an update that I’m sure many of you Epcot fans have been waiting for – a sneak peek at the new Test Track attraction vehicle.

This sample “SimCar” can now be viewed outside the attraction at the nearby Cool Wash Station, while the reimagining of the attraction continues.

When Test Track reopens later this fall, the attraction will allow guests to experience the fun and fascinating world of automotive design firsthand. Guests will first enter a Design Studio and make a series of selections (as an individual or a group) to create their ideal custom concept vehicle – they can even pick the color. Guests then board a six-passenger SimCar for a test drive, and see how their design compares to the SimCar in Capability, Efficiency, Responsiveness and Power.

  • My wife and I are planning a trip down to Disneyworld for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. We are both looking forward to riding it 🙂

  • I’m getting excited. Me and the family go back next June and I can’t wait. I’m starting to get motion sickness on rides that I once used to love riding this being one of them. But, I think I’ll take the chance next year so that I can say I at least rode it once w/the new design.

  • I’m really hoping Test Track will reopen by the time we arrive in late November. I still remember the first time I rode Test Track–I SCREAMED through the 60 mph turns! Looking forward to doing it again soon.

  • I saw on the WDW website that it’s advertising Nov 30th as the opening date for Test Track. My family are gutted we’re not going to be able to ride it again when we come at the start of November.

    Do you know if the Crash Test Dummies, hot room, and/or cold room are going to be a part of the new Test Track? I’m a big fan of the Kingdom Keepers books, and I’d hate to see them go.

  • When is the “Fall” date to open? I have some clients that are going to be there early October and it is their son’s favorite ride. They don’t want to miss it!
