Today marks the 75th anniversary of Walt Disney’s first full-length animated feature, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” As we learned here on the Disney Parks Blog last year, the film was a game changer for the Walt Disney Studio. Walt bet everything on the project, and the payoff was a record-breaking masterpiece that paved the way for the Walt Disney Company we know today.

Here at Disney California Adventure park, we pay tribute to that pivotal moment in Disney history with the new Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge – a replica of the Carthay Circle Theatre, where “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” premiered on December 21, 1937. Not only is it a place to enjoy a delicious, elegant meal; it is a living tribute to the gamble that turned into a dream come true for Walt Disney. In honor of this special day, I’m pleased to share with you some of my favorite images of this beautiful building.

  • Snow White & the seven dwarfs, our family favorite.

    Thanks for the info.

  • My mother saw it at the Carthay and luckily we even have pictures. Unfortunately, she is 88 and has dementia so doesn’t remember but I do remember her telling me about it. Since I am a Disney fan and also a Snow White fan it means a lot. She also has an original Dopey doll!
