MagicBand+ is now available at Walt Disney World – and our cast members were the first to experience it before today’s big launch! MagicBand+ is our newest wearable that brings the magic to life in all-new ways, and about 200 cast members saw this firsthand during a private viewing of “Harmonious” at EPCOT. Ahead of the preview, cast members received a complimentary MagicBand+, specially themed to the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary – our cast are the heart of the celebration, after all.
Within the opening notes of “Harmonious,” MagicBand+ came to life. Throughout the spectacular, the newest wearable lit up and vibrated in sync with the fireworks, visual effects and music, immersing cast members in the show in a whole new way.
As if one #DisneyCastLife preview opportunity is not exciting enough, some cast members also enjoyed an exclusive sneak peek of Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – one of the new in-park experiences available with MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World. MagicBand+ served as their guide when seeking numerous virtual bounties hidden across Black Spire Outpost. Check it out:
For me, this past week has been heartwarming. As I watched the story of “Harmonious” unfold with my MagicBand+ on my wrist or traversed the Black Spire Outpost to find my virtual bounty, I couldn’t help but smile every time I heard my fellow cast members cheer, gasp or exclaim, “this is so cool!” Witnessing excited reactions during opportunities you can only get as a Disney cast member served as further proof that the #DisneyCastLife is all about magic. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the Technology & Digital team who brought MagicBand+ to life.
