Take a stroll through “a bug’s land” at Disney’s California Adventure and see holiday decorations from a whole new view. Flik and his friends have borrowed a few decorations from the human world. It’s a great time for the kids as they walk under oversized multi-colored lights and stand next to oversized ornaments that are 8-feet tall. Take a look at this video to get an idea of how even bugs can get into the holiday spirit.

posted on December 23rd, 2009 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks
We’ve already posted some early peeks at the award-winning musical talent and stars appearing at this year’s Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade but here’s one more – and it’s my favorite. It’s the Magic Kingdom turned into “Toyland” using tilt-shift photography:
You can see the entire two-hour televised special nationally in high-definition on December 25 on ABC-TV at 10 a.m. Eastern and 9 a.m. Central, Mountain and Pacific times.
Christmas Parades at Disneyland Park: A Look Back
posted on December 23rd, 2009 by Valarie Sukovaty, Disneyland Public Relations
The first parade at Disneyland debuted in 1958 and it was called “Christmas in Many Lands Parade.” The name changed in 1961 to “Parade of Toys and Parade of all Nations,” but then switched back to “Christmas in Many Lands Parade” until 1964. The following year it became “Fantasy on Parade” and that was a name that finally stuck for several years. In the 1980’s the park debuted a new paraded called “A Very Merry Christmas Parade” and finally in the mid 1990’s “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” made its way down Main Street U.S.A. Take look at this historical video and enjoy a look back.

posted on December 23rd, 2009 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks
The Grammy Award-winning, Mexican-American band Los Lobos recently stopped by the Germany Pavilion in Epcot to jam with Dopey, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy and Bashful. The band played one of their favorite tunes, “Heigh-Ho.” Check it out:
Los Lobos’ latest CD is “Los Lobos Goes Disney” from Walt Disney Records. “Heigh Ho” originally appeared in the classic 1937 Disney animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” and is the lead track on the new CD. Other songs include “I Wan’na Be Like You” and “Bare Necessities” (The Jungle Book), “I Will Go Sailing No More” (Toy Story) and “Grim Grinning Ghosts” (Disney Parks’ Haunted Mansion attraction).
Caroling at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
posted on December 23rd, 2009 by Michelle Baumann, Walt Disney World Public Relations
Hi everyone…my name is Michelle Baumann and I’ll be posting about what’s going on with Disney Vacation Club. DVC exploded this year with cool new offerings like treehouses, ultra-modern rooms, and African-themed accommodations overlooking a real-life savannah at Kidani Village. While walking around Kidani the other day I found out that a dozen or so managers, gift shop clerks and housekeepers unite daily for caroling throughout the resort. See for yourself:
If you’d like to see it, you better hurry — the singing happens at the newly opened Kidani Village through Dec. 25, 2009.

Holiday Treats at Disney Parks
posted on December 22nd, 2009 by Thomas Smith, Social Media Director, Disney Parks
It’s usually a given…I visit a park and end up with snack in hand, especially during the holidays. And the Santa Mickey Crispy is a favorite. We found this treat at the Candy Cauldron at Downtown Disney and so can you this month.
Of course, there are many other treats in the parks to choose from. Share your favorites in the comments.
Disney Characters Decorate Disneyland Park Through the Years
posted on December 22nd, 2009 by Heather Hust Rivera, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, The Walt Disney Company
You told us a couple weeks ago that you wanted to see more historical photos, but what about video? Do you want to see more video from our archives? Let us know in the comments.
Today we have video of holiday decorations at Disneyland park from the ‘60s through the ‘80s. Take a look at the Christmas trees from different years. Can you imagine what it takes to flock a tree of that size?
I particularly like the tradition of Disney characters helping dress up Disneyland park for the holidays. It makes sense to me that Mickey and Donald decorate their home just like we decorate ours.
What do you think?

Philharmonic Fun
posted on December 22nd, 2009 by Gene Duncan, Photographer, Walt Disney World Resort

I enjoyed the holiday music performed by the Main Street Philharmonic yesterday at Town Square, as well as the colorful and ever-changing reflections provided by this sousaphone in action. This image could be my most obscure self-portrait to date, and it also provides a few interesting discoveries, such as multiple images of the beautiful Christmas tree, as well as a rather obvious “hidden Mickey.”
