Moms Panel Monday: I Do… at Disney Parks

“Disney
Love is in the air this whole week at Disney Parks as we celebrate Valentine’s Day. One of our panelists can’t think of a better romantic, life-long memory than her recent engagement right here at Walt Disney World Resort.

Last December, during the holidays, Emma Nicholson got the biggest surprise of her life when her boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed to her at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. I was blessed to help celebrate her new ring with her the next day.

Here are a few tips Emma has for romantic proposals at Disney Parks, so gentlemen, make sure you take out a pen and pencil to write this down if you’re planning to pop the question to your princess anytime soon!

Top 5 proposal ideas from Emma The Bride:

  1. Visit DisneyEngagements.com for lots of brilliant proposal ideas and to find out more about how a Disney engagement can be like no other.
  2. Set sail on a VIP boating experience on the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake aboard the ultra luxurious Grand 1 Yacht.
  3. Enjoy a romantic dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is a fairytale setting for romantic marriage proposals. Once you have a reservation and would like to arrange a Fairytale Engagement or simply learn more about the variety of enchanting enhancements available, from personalized glass slippers to signature slipper desserts, email wdw.crt.special.events@disney.com. (Please note: These options require at least 7 days’ advance notice.)
  4. For a proposal that is guaranteed to take your breath away, why not consider Characters in Flight, where you can take your special someone up in a giant balloon 400 feet above Downtown Disney to pop the question.
  5. If a quiet, intimate setting is more of what you had in mind, I can personally recommend a proposal on the beach at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Just like Mary Poppins, this turned out to be practically perfect in every way for me!

Now it’s the countdown to our second Disney Parks Moms Panel wedding. I will tell you about the first one later!

  • My fiancee proposed to me on April 20, 2012 in front of the castle. Best day ever :o)

  • I had an excellent plan of going to dinner at the California Grill and proposing during the fireworks. Instead of ruining a perfectly fine meal with my nerves, I got antsy and proposed at the Beach Club, which was awesome. I couldn’t think of a better place to begin the rest of my life with my Fiance!

  • Wow! Lots of love and romance has happened at Disney Parks! I too have some memories de mi boda/wedding as part of my honeymoon was spent at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.

My Prince Charming is taking me out to eat at a Downtown Disney restaurant this weekend for V Day!

  • Correction above January 4th. 🙂

  • A Disney proposal is truly the best out there! My fiancé proposed to me last year on January 3rd at the Crystal Palace because it have my favorite character Eeyore! He waited until Eeyore came to our table and made a special announcement and one that I will never forget!

I do have a question though…while he did the proposal there were many people taking video but one in particular who my fiancé gave his email to on a napkin to send us the video. Needless to say we still have not seen the video and I would love it if Disney and the Disney community would be able to help us out on this journey to find it!

We have searched youtube since the day we got back and have done endless google searches and had no luck. I have all the details on when where and how it happened just no video 🙁

We are getting married in October and would love to have the video playing during our reception! I truly love Disney World and I couldn’t think of a better place to have this magical moment happen! 🙂

  • I proposed to my wife at the wishing well next to the cinderella’s castle

  • Congratulations Emma and Phil!

I was proposed to in front of Cinderella Castle last September. It is a moment we will never forget 🙂

  • That is so sweet! So happy for you Emma, a Disney-loving man is a KEEPER! I did not have a Disney proposal, but I did have a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding and Honeymoon. And my reception was at the Beach Club, just steps away from the site of your proposal! It really is a beautiful spot – and Y&B has become my favorite resort. Enjoy being a bride, and I hope you can add lots of Disney magic to the big day!

  • Congratulations to Emma!

How touching and truly special it must have been to become engaged at the most magical place of Earth!

That is what is so very special about Disney Parks, people can celebrate anything their hearts desire.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you too, Laura!

    Best regards,
    Jacqueline (Jackie)

  • My fiance proposed to me at Disneyland in January in front of the castle. He told me that he always knew he wanted to do it there because its my favorite place. Disneyland is even more special now. To me that is one of the best spots in either Disneyland or Disney World. Its romantic…and you can ask one of the cast members to take pictures during it so you have photos, if there is no one else with you that is. There are a lot of people around though so if you don’t want a bunch of people around to watch, then maybe do it somewhere else.

  • Congratulations, Emma! Wishing you years of magic together!

  • Congrats!!! I did my proposal at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at WDW, it was very romantic! By the pool and the animals on the Savannah when it was almost raining, it was empty around almost like we had the place to our self’s! It was great!

  • Excellent job on capturing the moment by photo Ben!
Can’t think of a nicer family around. Wishing you all SO much happiness as you continue your “Happily Ever After” together!

  • How about where I proposed – between the cheese course and desert course at Victoria & Albert’s in the Grand Floridian. I’ve heard that there has never been a “no” heard after a proposal at V&A’s.

  • Congratulations Emma and Phil. I nearly had a Disney proposal… but my hubby couldn’t wait and did it 2 months before. lol. 🙂
