As people in most of the U.S. get ready to set their clocks one hour ahead for Daylight Saving time, Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom will “spring forward” to save frogs and other amphibians. On March 10, just a few days before Daylight Saving time begins, Guests and their families visiting the theme park will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of frog-related activities and find out how they can help amphibians, which are facing an extinction crisis.
Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet Watch will be hopping with fun and educational activities from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Young Guests and their families can play games that teach them about a frog’s life cycle and adaptations, listen to frog calls, and enter jumping contests to see if they can leap as far as a frog can.
Here are some steps all of us can take to help amphibians:
- Do your part to keep trash, chemicals and non-native plants and animals out of the natural environment
- Don’t let your pets pester frogs and other wildlife
- Conserve water
- Protect the environment by reducing energy use

We were at Animal Kingdom last year during frog week. My daughter got to color pictures and do frog lifecycle puzzles.Her favorite thing was writing about what she could do to make her yard safer for frogs. She then got to put it on the Frog Tree. This was the highlight of our Disney trip for her!
We have Forg tunnels in Yorkshire, because we have a lot of small country roads they now fit tubes under the roads in the dales so frogs can safely cross. In the summer I send my dog out before I cut the grass as she points them out so we can move them as well lol.
