Disneyland Resort Horticulture Manager Luis Gomez helps maintain the landscape of the Disneyland Resort. He also creates new landscape designs in partnership with Walt Disney Imagineering to help tell Disney stories in our theme parks.
As you may have seen in Shannon’s latest post, 90 percent of our horticulture team works third-shift, beginning at 2 a.m. I joined Luis and his team one recent morning to learn more about the increase of water-savvy plants at the Disneyland Resort.

Luis, you and your team do an exceptional job. My favorite part about Disneyland/California Adventure is the beautiful landscaping…the flowers, trees, bushes, grasses, fruits, vegetables…..I lose myself in all the beauty, and that beauty brings such a sense of peace and tranquility to the parks. The landscaping truly makes the parks welcoming. Thank you.
My dream job at Disneyland has always been third shift horticulture. They make so much of the atmospheric magic. Keep up the great work, it is definitely appreciated.

Thank you for shedding light on this role- the flowers and greenery are so important, and are ALWAYS pristine whenever i go to the park. They always look fresh and pruned.
I could imagine it takes an incredible team and hard work to maintain the flowers year around.
