At the beginning of June, I announced a summer of new souvenirs at Disney Parks with a preview of decorative hand sanitizers. Now that the hand sanitizers are available in a variety of merchandise locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, here is a look at other new and upcoming items.
The D-Tech on Demand boutique inside the Marketplace Co-Op at Downtown Disney Marketplace recently made available two designs for fans of ABC’s hit television show “Once Upon a Time.” Guests can create and customize a case for the following mobile phones: iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5/5S/5C, iPhone 6/6+, Samsung Galaxy SIII, Samsung Galaxy S4/S5/S6.
We are also offering a few pre-printed cases for the Samsung Galaxy S6 in select locations at Disney Parks.
One of my favorite things being released this month is a Vinylmation, Jr. set inspired by Adventureland. This limited release mystery set contains 12 figures featuring characters such as birds from Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and, my all-time favorite, the Orange Bird. The set will be released at the D-Street locations in Florida and California starting August 7.
In the coming months, we will be releasing a variety of new key chains. The first three feature mini-handbags that double as coin pouches.
I thought you’d enjoy seeing this sneak preview of Disney character inspired key chains arriving later this fall.

What the What! How did my husband and I miss the DTech Co-Op??!!! Finally I can get a phone case for my NON-Apple phone! Gotta hit this store this year with our infant daughter in tow and my parents. That’s 3 generations visiting WDW together.

My family will be visiting Disney World Late August, ( it’s been 12 years since my last visit:); anyway, I am an Orange Bird enthusiast and would adore the vinylmation set as a souvenir. Will this set be available August into September?

@Melody – This series is limited release so it will be carried for a certain period of time. It’s availablility will be depend upon how popular it is with guests. More than likely, you should find it when you arrive. Check out D-Street in Downtown Disney West Side. Safe travels.

I see the HM Stretching Portait #2 Figure has now been released! Would you be able to tell me if they are planning on offering this one online? They are offering the first one online.
Also, in terms of other new summer releases, can you give me any information (price, etc) for the new light up Lumiere ornament?

Steven, more details about the mini-handbags please! My 9 month old daughter loves bags (yes, she’s that young yet is already into bags, go figure!), and these look perfect for her. How big? And although we’re visiting DLR for the holidays this year, it would also be great if these tiny totes were available online too. Thanks!
@Dustin – The mini-handbags are key chains so they are very tiny. They are designed to hold coins. I don’t know of plans to carry these items on our Disney Parks online store.

Steven, love the mini purses (my grand daughter Zoe loves them too), but all year I have been asking about when (or if?) the Disney Dollars celebrating 60 years of Disneyland will be issued? I am now thinking, since it is so late in the year for a release, that we long time Disney Fans who have been collecting the dollars (since 1987) may be in for a sad ending (hope I am wrong). Do you have any comments or has Upper Management been able to end the cycle as has been rumored?
@Michael – I contacted Disneyland Ticketing and Walt Disney World Ticketing. Both departments have not received any updates about Disney Dollars for Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary. I’m sorry I don’t have better news.
I’ll be down this weekend so I can’t wait to get my sanitizers!! And, now I have something to look forward to getting when I’m back at Christmas; love the Key chains and will have to have several of them!!! Looks like great stocking stuffers 🙂
