Can you believe that the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar is less than a month away? Today we’re thrilled to give you a first look at the Na’vi Shaman of Songs, a character who guests can spot within the Na’vi River Journey attraction.
Encountering the shaman is a highlight of this fun family attraction, in which guests sail down a mysterious river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest filled with glowing plants and wondrous creatures. The river journey culminates when guests spot the shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora and celebrates that beautiful connection through her music.
The Na’vi Shaman of Songs is the most complicated Audio-Animatronics figure ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering. While our new photo and video offer a glimpse of the shaman in her forest setting, you might have seen her in this television commercial released earlier this year, where she says how she “looks forward to seeing you on Pandora.” Many assumed the shaman was computer generated, but it was actually the real shaman who now calls Pandora’s Mo’ara Valley home. An encounter with the Na’vi Shaman of Songs is just one of the many thrilling experiences that await you in in Pandora.

I too am concerned that this wonderful family friendly ride will be inaccessible to my son who uses a wheelchair. Avatar is one of his favorite movies. One of the reasons is that the main character uses a wheelchair. I know it says “must transfer” on the info. Is there any transfer device to assist or are there plans to include a boat that will load wheelchairs? Thank you.
There is a soft opening going on for AP holders only. The reservations were given out in March, though, so it’s probably full by now.
I hope I will be able to see it next February. The animatronic looks amazing. I hope the ride brings you really close!
WOW! Audio-animatronics have certainly come a long way since Abraham Lincoln made his first appearance at Disneyland. Particularly interesting are the graceful movements by the arms, wrists and hands. Truly amazing. Looking forward to seeing all of this in person soon!

Hope there are soft openings to this wonderful attraction when I visit next month. Heading home before official opening date. Hope I am lucky as I was with mission space that I managed to try before official opening. Any idea of opening dates before 26th May?
